Meet Birch Benders, Our Brunch Sponsor – WELL Summit

Our goal at Birch Benders is to make the world a more beautiful and delicious place, one pancake at a time.” – Brandon Sharp, Birch Benders

There’s nothing we love more than a delicious Sunday brunch and that’s one of the things we’re looking forward to this weekend. Sunday brunch will be catered by Birch Benders, a brand of pancake and waffle mixes that are unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. Not only are they good for you because they are certified organic, certified kosher, non-GMO, low-fat, zero transfer, and nut & soy free, but they are incredibly simple to make early in the morning when you haven’t had enough caffeine! Basically, you just add water and cook – how great is that. Today, we’re talking to Brandon, Chief Brand Officer at Birch Benders to learn more about the company and its products.

Can you tell us a little about yourself, and how Birch Benders came about?

My name is Brandon Sharp and I’m the Chief Brand Officer at Birch Benders Micro-Pancakery. Birch Benders began when founder/CEO (and my former college roommate) Matt LaCasse woke up one day craving pancakes, his favorite food, but didn’t feel like going through the hassle of making them. All the ingredients, all the dirty dishes, it just seemed like too much. Then he had an idea: what if you could crack an egg over a griddle, but instead of getting, well, an egg, you’d get a gourmet pancake? What if making pancakes could be that easy? So Matt set out to create the most delicious, healthy, hassle-free pancake. Lizzi (now Matt’s wife, and another college classmate of ours) joined the team as COO, and forged the path to making Birch Benders the world’s first natural and organic, just-add-water pancake & waffle mix.

I joined the team soon thereafter to help spread the good word of Birch Benders across the nation. We are Birch Benders and we love pancakes. We believe that some of the best moments in life are spent around the table with the ones you love. In these crazy, dizzy, over-scheduled days, we want to bring people back together. Our goal at Birch Benders is to make the world a more beautiful and delicious place, one pancake at a time.

What are you looking most to at the Well Summit?

I am most looking forward to sharing Birch Benders with a new community. We just started gaining presence on the east coast in the last few months (Whole Foods in the North Atlantic region, nationwide distribution at Target, and many other natural and independents stores in this part of the country), so this is the perfect time to get Birch Benders in front of people in the food, health and wellness community. On a personal level, I am excited to meet new influencers in this space and learn from all the awesome speakers and attendees.

What will your brand bring to the Summit + what are the takeaways for attendees?

We will be providing pancakes at the Brunch at the end of the Summit on Sunday with some incredible toppings – perfect way to end an inspiring weekend.

What’s the most popular pancake mix?

Our Classic recipe is most popular, but our recently released Protein and Paleo mixes are generating a lot of buzz!
