Ksenia Avdulova – WELL Summit

ksenia-300x300-2439217 Breakout Session: Leveraging Your Likes: Using Social Media to Market Your Business. Talk about a brand with heart: Breakfast Criminals founder Ksenia Avdulova has taken what started out as an Instagram account about eating well to an ever-growing marketing phenomenon, all with the help of a heart-shaped bowl.Though she had always been interested in being healthy, Ksenia realized in grad school that after trying every diet imaginable, she still was uncertain what made her feel the most healthy and energized. Unable to pinpoint what was missing, she took a trip half way around the world to practice yoga in Thailand, where she was exposed to meditation and the ancient healing modalities of the Eastern world. Something inside Ksenia clicked: she must apply what she discovered in Thailand to her increasingly busy life in NYC.

As she learned to incorporate yoga into her life, Ksenia also examined her food choices. A viewing of the documentary “Food Matters” solidified her commitment to eating natural, whole foods and with that commitment the idea for Breakfast Criminals was born. Ksenia says the name and the idea came to her during a meditation session.  Ksenia began posting artful photographs of her acai breakfast bowls on Instagram as @breakfastcriminals as a personal creative outlet. It proved to be the perfect (and fast enough) vehicle for her to share her creations, photographed in a heart-shaped bowl, with the masses on her daily commute to work.

Today, Breakfast Criminals has 40k devoted followers!

That heart-shaped bowl has become a Breakfast Criminals signature. It symbolizes self-love, and Ksenia is passionate that even as the site grows into a lifestyle brand, the initial objective of Breakfast Criminals stays true: it’s not about listening to wellness trends or so-called rules, it’s about tuning into you. It’s about giving yourself love every day through good food, positive thoughts and a healthy, rewarding lifestyle.

The W.E.L.L. Summit is honored to welcome Ksenia Avdulova as she shares her social media expertise to help session attendees market their respective talents while staying true to their brand vision.
