Nitika Chopra, talk show host and self-love expert, is known for teaching people about self-love through beauty and self-care. She’s also known for doing a lot of work in the media and blogging, which she says she loves. We’re so excited to have her at W.E.L.L. Summit this year and we wanted you to get to know her a little bit better. Here’s her quick take with our most recent speaker interview (and follow her wellness journey on her website or on Instagram).
What would WS attendees be surprised to learn about you? I took voice lessons for 15 years of my life and have a practice of singing several times a week still.
What first attracted you to W.E.L.L. Summit? The beautiful way everything is created with such intention so that the experience is a truly powerful one. Not fluffy wellness but the real deal!
What are you teaching at this year’s Summit? I am leading a workshop about real self-love that isn’t so instagrammable as well as doing a panel with two wellness leaders about the honest truth around our body struggles. Some juicy and important stuff!
What does wellness mean to you? To me, wellness + self-love go hand-in-hand. It means because it’s all about being mindful. Being aware of what my body, mind, spirit needs allows me to have a deeper level of connection and love for myself and then act on those needs.
What are you hoping to empower attendees with? I want attendees to leave with an actual TANGIBLE way to access self-love. These days people are throwing around the concept of self-love with very little information on how one can actually achieve it. I want to change that and support each attendee with a clear three-step process that will leave them knowing exactly how to create more self-love in their lives.
What breakout session are YOU signing up for? Oh it’s hard to choose honestly but I love Satya and her jewelry line so would love to make a mala with her!
What exciting things are you working on this year? I am working on a proposal for an exciting book project and have a few brand partnerships in the works so stay tuned for more information on that!
Anyone who is at the top of their game has had to persevere and cheerleader themselves. What is one thing others told you was impossible but you proved was possible? Honestly my entire career! No one understood what I was doing or why I was doing it from the very beginning. It was hard initially but after having some success I turned all those people into believers and that was incredibly satisfying.
What book(s) are you reading now? I recently just picked up Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert again—such an inspiring book!
What quote inspires you? Although it’s a bit cliche, I live my life by the quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world” from Mahatma Gandhi.
How do you feel good about yourself on bad days? I always always start with compassion. Often people try to jump from negativity to positivity right away and I find that if you can have compassion in between, it helps tremendously.
What is your surprising/secret empowering practice? Whenever I am feeling “off” in any way, I sing and belt out musical theatre songs for about 15 minutes at least. It’s so fun and such a great release for me!
